After a lot of unexpected waiting at the airport (Ontario airport has a wonderful USO facility! Praise God for that- it entertained May and I for two hours)Chris landed. We had a short time at the airport due to both airlines losing ALL of his luggage. But it was all delivered to the house the very next day.
We went out to dinner that night after putting Mya down to bed and have been having a wonderful and busy week applying for visas, scheduling shipments, shipping our car and seeing a few friends and a lot of family. We have a few days of quiet to celebrate a very private Christmas. Chris' family went north to visit his brother and their family while we stayed here. It picks right back up after the 26th, though so we will be b-u-s-y until the 9th when we leave. There are still one or two holes left in the schedule so, if you are dying to see Chris and have the time to drive down to us, let us know. We'll put some soup on for you.
We have been having such a good time being together again and Chris has been completely disarmed by the charms of his daughter. He is still figuring out how to jump into his role as Dad to her because she has gotten older and needs a lot more discipline than she used to need. But he is handling it very well as far as I can see and he asks great questions and we have great talks about all sorts of things. I think he will do just fine. He was very concerned about how Maylisa would react to him and the amount of time she would need. There was none needed. She was not as attached to him as she has been to me but she was happy to see him and knew who he was the minute he came off the plane. Since then, they have played and read so many books there can't be a doubt of them having SOMEthing to talk about. And talk she does. He loves it. I am happy and thankful for that answer to prayer in this stressful time.
The Lord is patient and kind and good. and ever-present. How amazing that He should know my heart before I ever lived and still come to die for me. To see the wretched sin and deceit and still decide to love me so much as to create eternal peace between He and I. What awesome news this is to me each time I remember it. How incredible that He would do this and still pursue a relationship with me after all the work He has already done. He is the epitome of tireless love. I hope you know Him. He came for you. He lived on Earth for you. and He died for you. Merry Christ-mas.

Merry Christmas and Love to you all!
I'm so glad that Chris made it back safely! What a joy to have him home for Christmas with May.
I'm sure that once you think things are finally into a routine May will mix them all up for you again!
I hope that packing and traveling are not as exciting as you anticipate :)
Much Love,
The Van Hoosers
