We totally didn't make it past midnight (we didn't even make it past ten pm) did you? We have been busy busy, thought. The movers came Monday to pick up the first shipments of our things from Corona. It was fast and furious and we were originally told they weren't coming that day, so we were a little unprepared. I didn't have everything separated from what we were taking on the plane and what we were shipping so items got shipped that were supposed to go on the plane. So, we have been shopping for caots and gloves since all of ours got packed and we won't see them again for a few weeks after we arrive in a very cold Italy. sigh...an expensive mistake.
but we are encouraged and excited to start this new adventure. We have been saying goodbye to family and friends (on short notice due to the crazy schedule we have since Chris got late orders.
It is so strange to think that we are moving to a completely different country but we are so glad to live in this age of technology. We will still have almost daily access to anyone and everyone we wish to have contact with. And with almost no foreseeable problems. What an amazing blessing.
We have been so impressed by God's mighty work and love through this year. He is still working and providing for us through this huge undertaking (it is a lot to move internationally)as we need it. We are excited about the prospect for a house that we found. It seems everything we have prayed for and ten times more from what we can see. The landlord is a real estate agent in GA. His family has owned this home for a couple generations and the people in the village are familiar with his family since some of them still live there. It seems an ideal situation in every respect, so please pray for us about it when you think of it.
May and I are still waiting on our visas. We applied for them on the 20th and were told that it would be almost a miracle to get them back in under three weeks over the Christmas holiday. Please pray for this miracle with us!!! We desperately want to fly to Italy together as a family after being separated for the past year. Aside from starting the adventure together, it would make a 13 hour flight with a 16.5 month old toddler a LOT easier on the mom. :)
Chris is sitting in this room with me, playing Ode to Joy on the guitar and watching Maylisa stack her nestable cups. How wonderful to be so blessed. to be together again. To have him home with me. Happy new year indeed.
