We are have been praying for and supporting our dear friends the Kirklands this Christmas season. About 3 months ago, the Lord God gave Tyler and Valerie Kirkland a vision of adoption that was larger than they had originally planned, greater than their own strength could carry them, and quite frankly, larger than any budget they've ever known. Yet, the vision was good, and God's grace is sufficient so they pressed on... Right now the Kirklands with their son Hunter are in Ukraine trying to finalize their adoption of two babies with downs who are in need of medical treatment as soon as possible. Valerie and Tyler are living in Italy right now as we were and had planned to fly from Ukraine to Italy (much cheaper than straight to Ameria) and then take a cheap military flight to the USA to complete their children's citizenship. The Italian government is insisting on another month of waiting and paperwork before they grant the Kirklands visas to to bring their new babies into their country. This will not work financially for the Kirklands, work-wise for the Tyler, or most importantly medically for the children. The Kirklands now need to raise 2200-3000 dollars ASAP to buy plane tickets to fly them directly to America. Just as in our adoption of Luke, the children will automatically become American citizens once they touch down on American soil. Any amount you can donate will help. "Well as most of you know we are now officially the proud parents of two beautiful Ukrainian angels. The plan the entire adoption was for us to return to Italy so we could travel to the U.S. on a military flight. We planned this to cut down on costs. I first contacted the Italian Embassy 2 months ago and to make a long story short,they did not respond to my many emails after the initial response. Our agency even had Niko go and speak with the Visa man. He never would give a clear answer and would say basically...domani..or tomorrow. So as we were planning to leave for Kiev on Monday I emailed and tried to call again. This time he responded but said that there is a lot involved and that it would take 10 business days to make a decision to approve the visa application. With the Italian, and Ukrainian holidays and the embassy being closed every Friday, finding out their decision would be on January 18TH!!! Not only do we NOT have any money to pay for food and apartment, but we also will not have healthcare for our kids which they desperately need!!! We know it is Christmas, and many of you already helped us pay for this adoption, but we are here and all we can do is ask. Every cent will help us, even if you only have $10.00. We have called as well as looked online for tickets and the cost tonight is $2,900.00 for all of us to get to the states with the babies on our laps. I am hoping the ticket does not go up, but this is all in God's hands. We are just asking.
